Its not the first, and quite possibly won't be the last.

They built a brand spanking new dealership in Pinetown and Jeep weren't even in the building for a year before they closed it down.

Is this not due to the large combo Fiat Jeep Alfa Abarth dealers that are opening though???

I know on Wiliam Nicol here in JHB, they just opened a large dealership across from Bryanston Shopping Centre (where Investment Cars once was), that houses all brands under 1 roof.

niche brands are struggling in SA because people are so brainwashed to only think in one direction of brand.

the fact that the niche brands like to band together under one roof doesnt make sense to me, its like 4 people with no money all moving in together, now they can have no money together...

penta group here in menlyn have suzuki together with AR, fiat and Jeep. now that atleast makes some sense as Suzuki move a reasonable amount of small cars atleast.

The one in Midrand (Grand Central Motors) linked to Mercedes Benz also seems on the brink of closure.

Almost a million for the new Wrangler - no surprises they're not doing well.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles SA says its brands are ‘here to stay’

The CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles South Africa says the group’s brands are “here to stay”.

Graham Eagle made the comments as FCA launched its exhibition space at the 2019 Festival of Motoring at Kyalami.

The Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Jeep brands are displaying their wares at the show in Johannesburg.

“The Festival of Motoring has become a major stage for the South African motor industry to interact with consumers,” said Eagle, who took over the role of CEO of FCA South Africa at the end of July 2018.

“At a time when consumers expect brands to create authentic experiences, and products to serve continuously adapting demands, it is important for us to make our model range available for the South African public. And what more engaging brands and products do you get than those with passion, heritage, pedigree and excitement pulsing through their veins,” he said.

“We know we have great products. We’re proud to show them off at the Festival of Motoring and we are working hard to ensure our customer experience is the best it can possibly be.

Eagle conceded FCA had room to improve, but said the company was working hard to satisfy its customers.
