My TV was somewhere between those two extremes, it certainly wasn't as dark as that. But there were times when I was squinting to see what was going on.
Must admit the more I think about the actual plot of this last episode, the more issues arise - which is probably a sign of how much I have looked forward to it - GOT has set a high standard in comparison to many other much more Hollywood formula driven franchises. For example, I got bored with the Marvel stuff long ago - many those movies and stories are basically the same. After you've seen a few, they start blurring into each other, and become dull and repetitive IMO - but GOT is refreshingly unique with a lot of creativity and care taken to try tell a nice complex interesting story. They raised the bar - so I expect more from them.
I wouldn't really worry about some minor movie, or series to the same extent, for example.
