I am so gutted...

This season apart from a few nice moments has been utterly underwhelming. It would have better for the series to go on hiatus for a while, let the source material get better fleshed out so that the storylines could have been closed better. It’s like the writers are sitting with a whiteboard and just thinking of the quickest ways to close out characters. All the time spent building characters with their history seems so inconsequential. I wasn’t even pissed or shocked that the second dragon was killed and as I write this thread I just realized that I don’t seem to be invested in the series anymore.

It’s also a sign of some very bad quality control from HBO’s side and a disguistingly shocking ending to what was supposed to be one of the best series of all time. I know we have 2 more episodes left for this to play out but I will be completely surprised if it manages to turn the negative tide that this series has made in the last 2 episodes. At the same time these last two episodes have completely undone all the good work the previous seasons has spent time building.

I also think that HBO are gonna be surprised at how underwhelming the uptake will be on the spinoffs.

Kinda reminds me of the last episode of lost except this torture is being played out over the last 2 episodes.

Maybe I will feel differently after some reflection but just had to rant and get this off my chest cos I am so bitterly disappointed...

What gets me the most is the utter stupidity of the Stark/Targ army and their advisers portray. Surely Tyrion and Jamie should have know that Cersei would never surrender and would go out of her way to back stab and manipulate.

Like a previous post, how is it possible that they didn't see the ships? The range of those arrows aren't that far and they must have had to see the dragon to shoot it, hence if they could see it, surely Danny could have seen them.

Must say, this episode has a lot of stupid in it. I would go as far and say it is the worst episode of the whole series.

The battle planning in the last two episodes by two leaders (Dany and Jon) with a lot of experience in warfare has been awful.

We've all covered the flawed defence of Winterfell and the suicide mission the Dothraki were on from the outset.

Now this time they just think they can sail up to King's Landing when they know damn well Euron is out there with a much bigger fleet. Poor Rhaegal has to pay the ultimate price for their stupidity. Scout, much?

Or instead of sightseeing with your dragons, gain altitude and fvcking scout ahead. If they could shoot your dragon it means they have direct sight of you, which means you can see them.

Nah man. Those are tiny. Most likely just birds. Rhaegal got skewered through the neck. Doubt there's any way to come back from that.

They do show Euron surprised by something coming from the sky though later. Wonder what that is about...

You can hear a dragon at the 30 second mark in the trailer and Euron's face immediately goes from curious to concerned. It's likely Drogon attacking through the clouds.

Jon is praised for riding a dragon then...

Another conspiracy theory in there.
But Dany would never...

Rhaegal's death is an absolute joke. As per GRRM only one dragon has ever been shot in mid air and this is a one in a million shot. Now we are suppose to believe euron greyjoy can hit every dam shot from a moving shot against a moving target. Pull another one D&D...

I dont like shows where lovable animals die. And the dragons for all their ferocity are damn lovable animals in GOT. Now theyve gone and killed another one.

I don't issue with a dragon dying if its done correctly. But two deaths have been absolute jokes...No logic involved at all. Impossible spear throwing & impossible shots hitting their targets...All in the name of shock value.

Have to agree, the way in which it was done really sucked. Look how the giants died. Taking hundreds of arrow shots to be put down. Killing hundreds of soldiers before being taken down. And then the dragons..

Maybe other dragon riders were more careful with their dragons. Or taught them missile avoidance techniques.

Only one mature dragon. Danys dragons were like 8 years old at most? Balerion the dread was 1000 years old and as big as a mountain

Not my fault we are dealing with terrible writing, I was assuming they would stick to GRRM's true intentions. Lets see what happens in the true version and not D&D's hacked together shock writing...

If you think Dany is going to live in the books you're going to be sorely disappointed.

I swear the ASOIAF "experts" on here have only read GRRM and no other high fantasy so don't know how it always ends... Top Tips, the person you think is going to "win" isn't, the "good guys" always win but never in the way you think and a prophecy never means what you think it means.
