The shadow of a dragon flying over Westeros ;)

The Night King angle, why he wanted Bran and why children were given to the Night King to be reborn as White Walkers is still an ultimate mystery. A mystery which is now closed shut.

However,

Bran being pushed, losing his legs was his path at becoming the Three-Eyed Raven. The execution may allude to Missandei's death which may have driven Danny towards the Mad side. "Burn them all", "Dracarys" as screamed by Mel Gibson, sorry Missandei. "Where is my sister?", hi, Jaime aka Kingslayer soon to be known as Cerseislayer, it may also allude to the Mad Queen being slain. The Rob scene, which Stark (or bastard) is going down? The children, resurrection, Winter may still be coming.

You already called the Dragon scene.

The worst part about that scene, when the two hands entered negotiations. Qyburn was very reasonable, Tyrion even told him that he is a rational man which Qyburn acknowledged and then continued by asking Qyburn's help. Both acknowledged to avoid carnage and Qyburn stated to be only Cersei’s mouthpiece, which is correct as an ambassador and when starting to explain his reasoning… to which Tyrion responded by marching towards his sister to serve her with several reminders, only to push his sister in quicker action by ordering the obedient Mountain to slay Missandei.

All Tyrion’s doing, really, he gave Cersei a reason to doubt and she overcame that, so did Tyrion act as Danny’s mouthpiece, no. Yes, he is crapping his pants, he tried to avoid the Mad Queen’s terror, the path Danny is transcending in which he, by caring for his sister, helped pushed in.

Tyrion is turning bitches into witches.
And he was the one who sent the dragons and ships on that suicidal mission with the support of Jon.

Attack the food supply - but from the sea where Euron lie in wait?

What were they're thinking.

Though I don't entirely agree with this take, I do have to agree how he recycled the same material as used in the episode,

2 Years postponed, and this guy comes up with something better in less than a week. I don't agree with the take on Bran and the Night King, and again Melisandre's moment with Arya back in the day had everything to do with the list on which there is no Night King. The changes to the rest, except the Arya bit on being one with the dead, are pretty much accepted.

Forgot to mention, wtf is up with Bron? Thought he and the Lanister bros were good pals. Now he is just all cutthroat and serious about killing them.

It's like all their times and experiences together in the past is inconsequential. Is gold all that's important to him?

There were a few scenes that did point to her power hungriness and low tolerance to compromised, but the writers always down played them for the sake of fan service I think.

I'd say fan service is Mad Queen, so they are giving us the mad queen with BS writing.

It's the Cersei palette. Kill her kids, make her vulnerable until she lashes out.

Anyway my ending for GOT is that Euron and Jon are killed Daenerys and her dragon fall to their death and Arya teleports in (like she did to blue eyes) and kills Cersei Arya gets the Iron throne Yeah

Arya doesn't want anything to do with thrones. She just wants revenge. She also doesn't like or feel that she needs allies, help or friends so she'd be a terrible leader.

My theory; Jon is going home to the real north, Dany dies, Drogon flies off like Dumbledore's Phoenix did after Jon has ridden him and finally ended the fighting. Same reasoning as his direwolf, a dragon doesn't belong here. Can't decide between Sansa or Gendry sitting on the Iron Throne.

Arya may not like it but she is a warrior queen

Dani has shown several times in the previous seasons that she is ruthless when it comes to people getting in her way of her destiny. But it's always dialed back immediately and in the past couple seasons it has been dialed back even more. She's not supposed to be the Mad Queen but more like the ruthless conquerer like Aegon The conquerer.

I suspect keeping Cersei alive this long is fan service.

The problem is the ending is set in stone and you cannot change major character deaths until we see the ending

My thinking too, it's all shot and edited. YouTube channels need the views though. I enjoyed the video but disagree with a good number of their changes. For example I feel the Jorah death was done right, not off screen and in the dark. Dany saw him die in front of her, defending her. Rather than in a pointless cavalry charge.

She's done nothing Jon or Tywin haven't or would not have done and they are (were in Tywin's case) both good leaders.

Jon executed a 13-year old boy and also managed to bring the Crows and Wildlings together.

Tywin knew that a good ruler had to be just but ruthless. See his talk with Tommen.

Dany has been solid as a leader. She has had her bad moments through naivety and brutality, but for the the most part she's been solid. How else would she have amassed the armies she did if she wasn't a good leader? She even compromised with Yara. Fair amount of independence for the Iron Born if they stopped their reaving, which is their way of life.

Actually, that shows Dany's true colours. Have the Dothraki or Iron Born raped and plundered under her name?

Honestly, the only others close to her are Jon and Sansa. Rest are too weak, too naive, too harsh or too stupid.

The reason Jon executed Ollie was because Ollie committed treason, Jon had to execute him because of it was this duty to punish people for their crimes. Just like in the pilot when Ned executed the deserter from the Night Watch.

The reason why the Dothraki haven't raped and pillaged anybody was due to Tyrion talking her out of full invasion.

The comparison with Tywin Lannister is apt. It's not whether or not she would be a good leader or not it's about how much death and destruction she is willing to inflict to gain power and after that maintain her authority.

I don't want to bring this debate back up, but Daenerys has a valid claim to the throne. The Tarly's fighting her and then refusing to kneel is de facto treason from her perspective. Burning father Tarly is no different to hanging Olly in this regard.

Regarding the Dothraki, she headed Tyrion's advice, did she not? And the Iron Born? That was all her deal with Yara.

Tywin has done worse as well. Don't forget that he unleashed The Mountain on the Riverlands.

Really, people are trying to argue for something that isn't there. She may have considered doing things but she didn't after her advisors spoke to the compassionate and reasonable side of her. Tyrion may be useless now but he speaks the truth when he says she is a good leader.

Must admit this last season does seem rushed, and it does feel like the "writers" were sitting around a table with a deadline to deliver the script within half an hour, with a list in front of them of characters and story elements which needed to be eliminated - that list was decided for them by someone else and all they must do is produce some simple plot to facilitate that in as short a time as possible. So the story doesn't really flow, its feels patched together to reach some predetermined outcome.

Whatever the truth, to me a lot of the richness and complexity in the story which made GOT so interesting is being neglected in the rush to wind things up - and they are pulling the standard Hollywood cheap trick of substituting wow factor for a proper story.

These series always seem to do this, build up an interesting intriguing complex story which creates lots of expectation, and then seem to fire all the good writers and bring in a lot of clowns for the crucial final episodes. Battle Star Gallactica was the same IMO.

BUT...

In the interests of trying to continue enjoying the series as it is:

I did enjoy some of the latest episode. My theory about Gendry seems to be on track. I like the fact that Arya and the Hound are back together and on a mission. Cersei is at least being formidable, just like her father (although no where near). I liked the Stark family council scene - which may mean the family becomes a proper force to deal with - with an interesting complexity around how Jon might, or might not fit in. And Sansa is starting to become another favourite characters (as well being extremely good looking ).

So lets hope the final episodes improve!

It's difficult to make any predictions because the story seems predetermined (I know of course it is), but it's not really flowing along, it's sort of fractured and patched. So I suppose anything can happen.

I'm rooting for Gendry married to Sansa on the the throne.

The writers did the poor job on the show fleshing out that aspect of the personality. Which is why the sudden turn of face seems out of place in the last episode.

^ This, and my 2c :-
The ‘drinking game’ dialogue was utterly cringeworthy. 8 years of violent near death experiences and this one renders the characters mindless? Nope.

Jon Snow offhandedly abandons Ghost without so much as a backward glance, leaving him so weak & battered he can barely stand? Nope.

Then the entire Rhaegal death scene is was just WTF lazy, stupid, gratuitous, sloppy BS writing- insulting to characters & fans.

For me some of the writing has become so nonsensical that any anticipation thrill has all but gone for the final 2 episodes. I’m stunned by the stupid but still hooked on the rest, clinging to hope that some buyable credibility can be restored by the end. Please. :cautious:

One thing I still think is great about this series, is the theme music, just love those cello's.

Just wish they would transmit the sound in proper high resolution, because even though I turn the volume up, its all smeared by compression. But still it's great!
