Danaerys turning and doing the unexpected is what madness is. If everyone expected this from her she would just be a tyrant like Cersei, not mad. The Mad King was probably also sane for a while before he lost it.

Cersei is still more evil in my books as she purposely put everyone in harms way. Danaerys just went batshit crazy and decided not to play Cersei's game anymore.

The mad king was evil he was just insane. The real problem with this madness from Danaerys is that there was 0 indication that she had the potential to go batshit crazy and show made it seem that her logical but somewhat brutal ideas/thoughts/deeds were signs of her madness

There have been hints pointing to it throughout the series. Faint but they have been there

Well apart from a few annoying stupid bits, that was pretty much the first time I've been surprised in 2 seasons in which for me it was the best episode also.... I really quite enjoyed that. A nice twist that I never saw coming with Dany being inherently mad, and it sets up a final episode that tbh, I was just rolling towards with half an interest.

The writing has become so sloppy and lazy it has pretty much spoiled the wonderful series it was, but glad to see it still has the odd twist here and there and I'm looking forward to it wrapping up next week.

Well Dany just heartlessly killed more innocent people than a millennia of mad kings, tyrants, put together. It was cold, and ruthless. Its like Joffrey x Ramsay x Cersei x 200 Million

The previous season was reduced by 3 episodes and this season reduced by 4 episodes that's basically another season worth of episodes.

What also is factor is studio interference.
The studio actually wanted more seasons - and why wouldn't they, it's their biggest drawcard...

Lots of key source material was available but they chose to cut it. Dorne plot, lady stoneheart,faegon,ect...
Sure, but the ending was not known. They may have had a vague idea, but it's not directly from any source material.

In it's current form they should definitely have done another two seasons to get the pacing right.

But if the story was complete at the source, they could have paced the show more appropriately if they wanted it to end now...

The show's world is indeed smaller than the novels. In a conversation at the beginning of the episode Dany says Jon and the rest of the army arrived at Riverrun and it'll take two days to arrive at King's Landing.

Look at the map. If that's a two day trip slogging with an army of thousands, then going from KL to Winterfell on your own on horseback shouldn't take more than a week.

Damn, I thought Dorne was REALLY far away, like across the sea somewhere, but turns out it's on the same "continent"?

A Game of Epic Fail. Boy, did they make it cheap... this is a rush, with no logic, to end the saga. I am saddened by the poor writing, so many plot points closed shut.

Maybe they just want to end it so that the lazy fecker starts writing books again
