How to win Game of Thrones. Be AFK as much as possible and swoop in when the time is right. Bazinga writing at it's best.

What's with the poor rating of this season (total and episodes) on IMDb? Real or angry fans?

For what it is worth, the ending pulled together, better than expected. Just too many shortcuts and the runup to this episode could have been better told or conveyed. By far the best episode of the season in my opinion.

Spinoffs are now wide open, and there are certain but subtle hints to other things as well but I will give this thread 24h for people to catch up.

All I know is, the showrunners watched a lot of Alt Shift X explanations.

Seriously, these writers.

Brienne swore a life oath to Catelyn Stark that she would protect Sansa. Why is she Kingsguard to Bran while Sansa is the queen of an independent kingdom?

Literally nothing mattered in this season. Season 8 is like its own free-standing show, totally unconnected to the previous 7.
Not exactly, Brienne swore to Catelyn Stark, Catelyn also swore to Brienne to always have a place at their table. Then later Catelyn orders Brienne to escort Jaime to King’s Landing and in return to bring Sansa and Arya back home, under oath. Then when it comes to the Sansa arc, we all know, Brienne then swore to Sansa. Nobody at this time knew where Bran was at the time, dead or alive. In the end, both Sansa and Arya are back and home, and so is Bran. Bran being sworn in as king, well, guess at which table Brienne is sitting?

The oath was to protect the children, she succeeded at that.

He's the perfect Master of Coin...takes no BS when it's collection time and who's going to try to cheat the taxman who's good with a crossbow?

If he wasn't Lord of Highgarden, he'd probably steal what he collected ;)

That Tyrion book thing was a throwaway line for amusement...makes no sense in the context of the show. If it was Pycelle writing it under Cersei's instruction maybe that would have happened. Tyrion was Master of Coin to Joffrey, Hand to Daenerys, new Hand to Bran, current Lord of Casterly Rock?...what kind of history book leaves that kind of stuff out?
I liked the humour at the table, Bron was clowning around. People should comprehend that scene when it closed with Tyrion telling a ‘brothel’ story. The lore is on track, many houses have been seated by cutthroats, and yes, Bron is the no BS type, people will pay their dues.

That table was always too serious.

laughed at the moment that uncle stood up, puffed his chest out and started to plead his case then was interrupted and told to sit tf down. Then they thought let's rather let the imp prisoner decide who should be the ruler oh and he can be 2nd in command why not?

Meanwhile Jon, the rightful heir can't rule? Since when isn't killing the previous ruler a legitimate method of passing on power? No let's rather appease the unsalied, banish Jon and give the unsalied land. I mean they travelled half the globe, killed women and children for their queen but I'm sure they'll let her death slide and her killer free for their own freedom. Grey Worm basically made to look useless. Could have atleast made it seem like he had a change of heart or given some sort of explanation for his reluctance to challenge the ruling or the freeing of Jon or the Imp who admitted he was guilty just as much as Jon was.

I guess if Drogon is happy to let Jon live while he does who knows what with Danny's body then everyone can accept Jon lives.

Surely Arya's adventures could be a new show? Question is who will write it. GoT made too much money for the network to let the idea go.
Won't be a story, comparable to GOT. GOT main intrigue was the power struggle, politics, many different characters and and and. Arya's story will read something like the 90's lame Xena the warrior princess. One main character, picking up a side kick and kicking ass every episode, with a moral of the story twist at the end.....
