So how does Melesandre with all her magical powers not know the White Walkers can't pass the wall. In the previous series she saves Stannis' general Davos Seaworth because of the threat of the White Walkers based on a message she read that was sent from the wall.

She doesn't know everything. R'hllor only reveals certain things to her.

Aah... You're assuming Mel only sees visions related to the Iron Throne. Fact is, her visions are all about The Great Other... A global threat. She's already convinced Stannis to help the Wall rather than fight for the throne, and Davos can help. Mel believes what she sees in the flames and other than misinterpreting a couple of the visions ("Shows me only Snow") she's usually right.

PS. Can't wait for the series to get to AA and TPTWP so we can all get busy speculating.

PPS. Mel is one of my favorite characters in the books.
