I reckon tywin will be his champion

Highly doubt it. He resents Tywin and Cersei more than anyone. I reckon it will be either Jaime or that prince dude who's one of the judges. They both seem more sympathetic towards him...

Also keep in mind he doesn't just pick a champion, thereby forcing that person to fight. Someone needs to offer themselves as his champion voluntarily. Trial by combat usually involves yourself, but you may have someone fight in your stead, if that person volunteers.

See Lysa Arryn vs Tyrion as an example. Had Bronn not stepped up, Tyrion would surely have died as he would have been forced to fight his own battle.

Obrien will fight his battle IMO.

How close is the show's dialogue to the books'?

Very much the same yes. Some changes here and there but if you read that piece and use your mind to fill in the dramatic moments and stares you would come close.

The only other moment in 2014 TV that came close to this was the monologue by Billy Bob Thornton to the cop in Episode 1 of Fargo.

In the books, I'm sure the moon door was in the wall and not the floor.
Also, I don't remember Bran nearly meeting Jon at Kraster's

GRRM said he and producers had to "TV" the series... For "entertainment" purposes.

Wasn't there a scene in the book where they almost meet south of the wall, which they left out of the tv series. Bran and co were camping out in a tower surrounded by a moat or something IIRC and Jon and the wildlings were camping out below the tower, but they never meet? But no, Bran didn't go anywhere near Crastor in the books. Also, Sam never sends Gilly to that town in the books.
