Yea, it hasnt happened to me in a LONG time. the few times i've had issues, i've simply just plugged another drive in, and dumped the files...

YES, my power tripped wile i was defraging!. :(

My Digital Blasphemy collection - mostly gone - yea i can download them again... but ofcourse its MONEY towards the stupid 3Gig CAP...

TV Episodes about 4.5Gigs a season... EISH... got gaps in my files, some play, some don't play.

Pictures i've taken with my Digital Camera - Things i wanted to have for years to come - also Gaps.

Yea i'm lucky that i havent lost everything - but the amount of work that goes into shaping your collection of stuff that you enjoy, stuff for your entertainment, work etc - GONE.

BACK-UP YOUR STUFF AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE - IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU TOO ESPECIALLY NOW WITH ALL THE POWER CUTS!!!!!!!.

I must recommend everyone to get a ups, even if it's just a small one, at least you will have enough time to stop the defragmentation and shutdown. It's small price to pay to save alot of money's hardware.

Try to get a good brand as I have had a bad experience with Proline UPS's that just didn't work. They just couldn't keep up enough power to keep my pc on and made the lights on a multiplug flicker(That's how bad quality they where). They didn't work right out of the box.

well - the funny thing is - the Defrag was about 25% in, and i did cancel it. i was waiting for about 35minutes allready for it to finish calculating something... i was standing there looking at it and then... so basicly its the File Index that got all messed up. The PC booted afterwards but i noticed i coulnt get into Task Manager, and Regedit woulnt open. pc got slower and slower, pc came up with a couple of errors... and then i desided to reboot, didnt recover after that.

*sigh* considering i havent reinstalled in a good few years - XP has been good to me!.

What season episodes are you missing? I can get all of The OC/Vegas/PB/Lost 1 and 2.

Let me know, I can dump onto DVD and send to you.

Defragging doesn't do that.Just use a disk recovery application. 99% recovery.
