A machine built for gaming....from Dell?

Dells XPS range is awesome, I mean they use their XPS notebooks in Oceans 13

physx card is awesome if you got cash to waste...

Im still trying to get around what a physx card actually does? Does it conecntrate on enhancing certain parts of the game i.e. trees etc or does it just work in sync with ur gfx card i.e. helps draw everything. and why are they so bloody expensive... does it really help that much to even think about spending that kind of money.

What games does the PhysX card support?

PS. acidrain, can you upgrade video card/processor on your notebook? It would certainly burn me spending all that money only for it to be forcibly obsolete two years down the line.

im not too certain, i just got mine with two 7950GLX cards so i doubt itll find itself obsolete for a while. but back to the question i highly doubt you can upgrade it as most laptops have their cards built into the mobo AFAIK including the processor.

who knows what will happen in 2 yrs time but if i need an upgrade im sure ill have saved enough for a monster desktop as these alienware laptops, im afraid to say, are a bit too steep but i just had to have ONE.

Unquestionably the biggest & best Notebook around... XPS M2010
Had the priviledge of upgading a client's system RAM from 2Gb to 4Gb on one of these babies - the pictures on site really only gives one a distorted view of the actual size and capapiblities of this one!
Bring back the lotto! :D

A buddy of mine reeelly wants one of these PhysX cards, hes already got AMD x2 5400 & nVidia 7950 512Mb.
So will the Physics card make an overall improvement in games, for all graphically demanding games, or is it only of value for games specifically written for it?

Its fine if u have a fancy new 8800 type card thats got it all already, but what about us who haven't upgraded there yet? If the Physics card does overall improvent, even for games that isn't specifically written for it, then perhaps having a cheapo 6 series card + Physics card could help?

NoRulez I love that PC, wanted to get me one but then I thought I'll rather get a alienware notebook. Better graphics.

PhysX cards are only supported in certain games and it enhances the gfx. Make things appear more real, like fire en explosions. Not really necessary but if you have the money get one
