They just say stuff every now and again to remind people they exist and to make it appear that they actually do something. Sad but true ;)

Yeah, they try take credit every time the free market does manage to do something to reduce costs in spite of their constant historical meddling and obstacle-ing, it's disgusting. Hey everyone, I am promising that broadband prices will come down in the next five years! Just remember that when it happens, it was Tick that did it, see! Meanwhile, prices are high because they are the ones who've created and try perpetuate the situation; all they need to do lower prices is remove obstacles they placed there. And then they try look like the good guys.

Why can't ICASA rather tackle Telkom in connection with the mandatory line and high monthly rental charges for DSL...that's far more important to me.

Ask yourself is there an election coming up or what? The DoC didn't do very well this year, and for them to promise this sounds too much like campaign promises.

Dear DoC and !casa - you did nothing.

Mweb and the others took the bull by the horns and did something positive for a change. So they must get all the applause. Not you.

So be off and be quiet.

First we had tons of hollow promises from Ivy (or did she actually promise anything?) and now Nyanda is sprouting forth hollow promises.

It would be better to under-promise and over-deliver! To over-promise just sabotages any integrity they may have left.

Regretfully their promise in now worth diddly-squat! Pity.

The DoC did however promise that “substantive reduction will happen between January and March 2011”

Their promise is already worthless when one considers that they'll all be on leave until somewhere very late in January.

In February doesn't Parliament open and they're all fussing about over their residential dwelling. Nyanda will have the whole department assisting with the new wind to his home and the decor and and and and.

So that leaves March alone to rush something out of the wood-works.

But it won't happen, as the promised "substantive reduction" will happen "between January and March 2011". So that means they're talking about February, which has already been ruled out.

Damn! It's not going to happen after all. :(

I would like to think that Nyanda is scared that Zuma will swing the proverbial axe and that Nyanda's head will roll, but it's unlikely to be the case - unless Nyanda is actually addicted to committing tender-fraud and cannot do without his daily 'fixing'.
