There will always be skeptics, the reality is that this technology works and is already being used on an industrial scale.

I was going to link to a demo video of a 15 kW model where they examined it pretty damn thoroughly, but you can do your own research if you are interested, otherwise just write it off as impossible and move on.

I have nothing to prove here and really don't have any reason to sell anyone on this but I am definitely no snake oil salesman. If anything, sharing this will only make it harder for me to get hold of one of these for my home.

So 5MW for home use.

Based on the above "advantages" table. the investment price on a 80MW installation is 3250 Euro/kW.

Without taking into account that a 5MW unit will cost more per unit due to economies of scale.

5MW=5000kW
5000kW x 3250 x 13.95 (exchange rate) = R226 687 500.00 for a 5MW "home" use model.

Even a 200kW model will cost you R9 067 500

or a 5 kW model at R226 287.5

And the unit cost is based on a capacity factor of 99.24% per year over 20 years.

Had a look at the costing, I don't get how the maintenance costs on this are less than that of photovoltaic options. Also, since this does have moving parts, it will need more maintenance and therefore will have to be shutdown at some stage and cannot expect it to run 24*7 as per the comparision charts. (
Also, the Solar option is based on 1000 hours a year which translates to about 2.5 hrs a day which surely is very low if you consider the South AFrica scenario.


Me thinks the numbers are not accurate and probably the running costs are more than the other options depicted in the comparision charts.

They are already in force with those silly water-pump-powered-water pipe generators.

The only low emission energy solution that would actually be of use to consumers would be a wood gas generator. But unfortunately the solutions are pricey. Like $24000 for 15 kW.
