A senior Eskom executive allegedly paid a hitman R400,000 to take out a middle manager in the forensic department

Should have gone to Hillbrow. Coulda got a Nigerian to do it for R400.
They are known for many things, being a reliable supplier of hitmen is not one of those. Maybe whoever wanted to kill her did go for a Nigerian, who quickly saw an opportunity to present himself as a Prince charming who saved her from certain death, yo prepare her for a much grander scheme later because that is more the style of Nigerians.

so .... did this hitman / hitperson start the conversation by stating his/her/their pronouns

“I’ve been paid R50,000 already and I’ll get the balance after I kill you,” they said.

They claimed that one of her colleagues had ordered the hit.

This lady was interviewed on the radio this morning and I'm afraid she doesn't sound too believable. She is also claiming de Ruyter is using her info for his claims on uncovering corruption without acknowledging even the email she sent him with allegations. Apparently also arrested by the Hawks last year.
The Hawks arrested her instead of arresting those who were conspiring to murder her? I can only take it the reason she does not have a book is that she cannot write to save her life from a hitman?

As I said. The vultures are pulling each other apart.

If she is one of the honest souls, she must make like De Ruyter and get out, go to another country, and write a book.

Or dig her own grave.

Jinne hectic stuff mybru

Who would even consider working for Eskom.

Nee los maar. Duk corruption, klomp lieg bekke.

No fanx

It is sadly not only Eskom. This would be the case in any government institution and SOE.

The fact is that it is simply not worth your life being a whistle blower, except if you want to be become a martyr for a cause.

I have read, seen and experience it myself. Nothing much happens when something untoward is reported and then the focus gets placed on the one who reported the issues and you are told to "keep it internal", where management can control things and wipe things under the rug.

It depends who you are whistleblowing against, rat on your co-worker, they will be nailed and you picture will adorn passages and accompany every company communique about not keeping silent on corruption.

Do the same thing to your executive and they will congregate and plot against you, get some good PR going while they dig up files on you. Unless of course they wanted to get rid of the executive in the first place, then you can still be a hero.
