A spokeswoman for Barclays said: "We had intermittent service on the website for about an hour this morning which had some impact on other systems. Everything should be working again now though."

Barclays and Barclaycard, in the midst of laying off IT staff, have suffered at least four outages this year. ®

Will this trend be followed in SA? If so, then expect a lot of turbulent times.

So glad I'm not in the IT field with banks... too much stress.
