A vigilante mob killed an Uber driver thinking he was a kidnapper

This is the problem with vigilante justice, people don't care about having evidence. Also this sounds like a case where general looting played a role and the girls are just a smokescreen.

Why are we even shocked by this?

When a country's criminal justice system has been compromised by incompetence, lack of political will to deal with crime, political judicial appointments, agressive defunding and the adoption of touchy-feely social justice, this is the inevitable result. People will take the law into their hands more and more as this country's institutions rot and putrefy. Expect this primal human behaviour to spread amplify.

The results of Fake News again...

tons of nonsense posts about human trafficking and kidnapping going around on WhatsApp again.
There's even one that says "a kid gets kidnapped every 30 seconds in SA" ... that's faster than the birth rate....

[…] a person on social media claimed […]

This is what justified the killing of another human being and setting him alight?! Disgusting.

How I would like to be able to understand the culture and thought processes of this type of human being. It is so distinctly different from any other group or culture that I have ever encountered, and I have encountered many.

What is it that makes them behave like this and be able to cause such harm, destruction and brutaluty daily , without ever considering that it might be wrong or that there could be other ways of handling things.

Geez erm maybe they can drop a nuke on that part of Capetown? Don't want those people spreading around.

Every Country, Province, State got the Rape, Murder, Drug, Gangster Capital of the world.

I've been following this story a bit. What noone is asking is:
If he was a Bolt/Uber driver on his way for a pick up, why was there 2 other black males in his vehicle?

Yeah. 300 seconds would probably be more realistic. But 30 seconds? That's pushing it

Or perhaps people shouldn't behave like Neanderthals?

Just an idea.

You have no idea what happens in the other parts of the city, Langa, Khayelitsha, Cross Roads, Nyanga to name a few. Mob justice attacks happens frequently in these communities, some more gruesome then others, it just never makes headline news, maybe "Die SON" lol.

But I agree, more people will take the law into their own hands because of our failing institutions and our government must start working for this country and its people.

All i care about is the accuracy of their allegations. They can rip them to shreds for all I care as long as they have the right culprit.
