For those of you that know me on the forum, or the brief time I did WoW Weeeknd Update on MMO-Radio S.A I hope you take a listen and give your opinions on what I have to say.

Local content, yeah I am all for local content when it comes to anything really in S.A. MMO-Radio a station bringing you talk/music shows for South Africans from a South African prospective. Sounds brilliant, issues are there yes like bandwidth costs in South Africa for the listeners, but that can be pushed past. However we all know that problem will not totally go away unless Telkom is put back in its cage... not gonna go into that now

Anyways, back on topic. MMO-Radio launched, with Sphinx and Aeros main managment, Sphinx's efforts are greatly recognized for design with the site, squish102 on #wow with doing shoutbox on IRC and variour other things. The effort there was great. However slowly the goal was lost, and progress slowed to standstill.

Lack of commnication the last 2 or 3 weeks have been a major issue. A applicant PM'd me saying he applied waiting around 7 days without any response.
"I could get a job as a DJ at 5FM at a faster rate." he said.
I agreed, sharing my opinion that the managment of MMO-Radio is seriously slow, as myself at the time a DJ had to been informed of any changes or progression in atleast a week or two, and its not like us (the DJ's) have not offered to assist. What I said apparently did not go down well with the Sphinx and Aeros. My point here is, if there is a problem dont be affraid to admit it, and fix it with the help of current staff (which are helping out free btw) or offer community support, if they are listening I am sure they might want to help out and assist. Interactivity is another way to grow any form of local content.

The point of this post is for all local content providers, be open with anyone trying to help you. I was PM'ing these two (aeros and sphinx) trying to get answers, only when I agreed with the guy in IRC that was unhappy with what we are doing, did one of them come out and saying he isnt happy with what I said... well I aint happy with the lack of response.

MMO-Radio S.A clearly has some issues at the moment, with Sphinx and Aeros wanting to claim all the success (that may come??) to themselves.

Conculsion to rant, warning to signing up there, and warning to others that are trying to do something wonderful for local gaming in the country. This is totally not the way to go. These kinds of things are not good for the productions staff, the people reading/listening/watching your content and in general the overall effort.

/rant off

So MrG, the conclusion? Are you still going to be a DJ there or not? You speak in present tense, but you don't sound happy.

Which ever way, good luck bro, and I think many people out there must have valued your input ;)

I strongly doubt it, I actually quit 2 weeks before this, because of the fact that there was no communications from anybody and half the staff was missing their shifts on schedule, after this Sphinx kinda, and kinda means still totally vague, got back to me saying this is what is planned.

After attempting to once again find out what is happening, I find my @ on IRC is gone, and the server password for broadcasting changed.. at this moment I have still had no communication from them.

Really sad that there is a total block. lol, I can get a ADSL line installed faster than MMO-Radio gets back to me. :)
----

I had a better plan for the station than this, but it was clear very fast that there was no plan of inculding the DJ's opinions in the future of the station. It is actually really sad, because it is a very good idea.
