I took a little time to reflect on changes in adsl over the past year and its so sad

Comparing adsl as I have it now when I look back to when the events seem to have been going like so...

Telkom : Dropped prices of 512k by R200 over a year and introduced faster and slower options.

SAIX: Overall performance drop especially in P2P and Games and soon to be hard cap.

UUNET: From expensive good uncapped to expensive horribly shaped uncapped, to no sales uncapped.

Internet Solutions: Heavy performance degradation of P2P and gaming, less bandwidth available to capped users (they actually used to give you 10% that they promised)

ISP's : Prices slowly going down, introduction of large cap sizes but november sees the death of that.

So basically the only good thing that has happened in a year is a line rental decrease, the user's HAVE to have increased in a year and yet degradation in service, you gotta love telkom.

ICASA are being horribly slow to act, making me wonder if they going to act at all.

I dont see why anyone should be happy about any price from november as its just more money for less bandwidth/performance

Few items left ouy

-Telkom degrades system more and more day by day, creating a broadband high speed teletext service for e-mail and HTTP only
-VoIP legalised 2005 Q! Telkom make it non-usable 2005 Q4
-From 1 Nov we will pay international rates for national surfing

At least one stable factor TELKOM is still screwiing us, and that will not change any time soon. Thanx TELKOM
