A2DP Headsets: Sony Ericsson or Motorola?

Yes, its that time of the year again: I'm getting my bonus and I have to get a new gadget.

So I'm thinking of buying a bluetooth headset to listen to my music (using A2DP) and also to issue commands to my pc (using the speech rocognition software on Vista). Right now I'm looking at the MotoROKR S9 headset and the Sony Eriricsson HBH DS970/DS980. I need some help choosing between the two.

Someone on theis forum should have one of these, I just want to know whats the sound quality like (they're all noise cancelling), whats the microphone quality like, do they disconnect often fopr no reason, etc

If youre using something else thats working for you please mention it, or if you have some links to SA sites that sell it please post them...

Hi Ivan i have had issues pairing the S9 with vista and XP just does not work for V.O.I.P so i think you may not win with Motorola try the ericsson models. M2M technology always seems work better.

I do. I have the DS 970. Its great to use. Very good sound. You wont be disappointed. Small, unobtrusive battery lasts long enough, charges off the same SE charger as your phone, what's not to like?

No trouble sync-ing it with Vista/XP?

No problems with an XP based acer laptop. Not sure of the cost as got it as part of my cellular deal.

Just got my DS 980, and its AWESOME..I love noise cancelling headphones.
I still have to test it out on Vista....and for some reason it doesn't show the track ID on the screen..I thought it was supposed to show it..

anyway I'll post a review on it tonight (for those who care, yes, all 1.5 of you)
