The oil producers are reducing output to try and make back in margin what they lost from reduced global fuel use during the pandemic. Consider the losses in revenue when 99% of the world's cars and aeroplanes just stop running. Where do they find that huge hole in revenue? Create an artificial shortage and push up the margins. Simple economics.

Get used to it. Lekker to lock down economies for the protecting of the vulnerable, ne?
