About D-Link-Please Advise

Hi can anybody tell me what is the difference in firmware in the Telkom 2750u and the retail 2750u.

Apparently D-link say they dont supply/support the firmware on the one from telkom.

I updated my neighbour's D-link from Telkom last week, using the firmware from the SA D-Link FTP site. There was no problem with the update. Don't know what's the difference between the two. BTW, I'm getting one for myself because of the built-in print server, I tested it out and it works fine

Edit: OK! Never noticed the !!!READFIRSTPLEASE!!! Oh well, don't know what the issue is because the modem is running without a problem

That's correct, I panicked a bit when I read the PDF and so phoned D-Link support. The techy said that, in their experience, the firmware corrupts some of the Telkom routers, then you have to do a hard reset and install the previous firmware. Question remains where one is supposed to get the firmware from Telkom

That's what they told me as well.Just all there links are broken on their website for support. And I will be too scared to phone in and ask.

I got my D-Link today and also found the right firmware on Tellumat's website. Updating was no problem. I see that you can set 8 WAN profiles with different account details, now to find out how to swap between them
