Today I lost another R220 by using ABSA's new internet banking interface when buying CellC prepaid!

I reported this glitch, on their new internet bank interface, since October 2013 but it is still not corrected, so it seems WHOMEVER clever IT guy is possibly creaming through this glitch is still getting away with it.

I report and complained and bring the error to their attention since October 2013 and then they want proof. So I had to send them me and my wife's cellphone accounts as well as our bank accounts to prove we pay, but the prepaid airtime was not credited.
I escalated it and resubmit it but I neither received my airtime nor received an apology.

This morning I bought again CellC prepaid airtime for R220 AND THEN IT WAS NOT CREDITED AGAIN.
I then realised, they are clever in that they give their new interface as landing page. So I am unconsciously forced to use the interface that robbed me.
I needed the airtime urgently, so I then had to switch over to their Old internet banking interface and had to buy the prepaid airtime for the second time through that OLD interface and it was credited like in the past since it works.(This proofs the error lies in ABSA and not at CellC (like what ABSA suggested I tried to find out in the previous complaint))

It seems that whomever is creaming that money in ABSA is still getting away with it. When I first reported it I also mention that we have ported numbers just in case that would give them a clue. I also have two signatures or usernames on this account for security and authentication.

I reported it again today and one just wonder is it worthwhile to help them to improve their own service? or to bring the creamer to light?
They make it so difficult to report it so as If you are the thief and the the last time after submitting all the proofs they did not answer nor rectify it in any case.
What other options is still available to a customer to ensure you are not robbed by your own bank?

On the other hand If I were the IT guy creaming, then I would make it difficult  for people to report my creamer!
I was just wondering who else were robbed through this ABSA' prepaid glitch?

I use the new interface to buy prepaid and it's working for me. Both Vodacom and Cell C is working fine.

Edit:

Just noticed that it worked on the old interface. I wonder if it has something to do with being ported and some code with the new interface :/

Two usernames?

Pretty sure im not the OP if thats what you're asking. Who knows maybe I signed up with ABSA, ported to CellC, Ran into this issue and posted it all here on a new MyBB account all in my sleep.

No you dont need two usernames, since you can switch between the two interfaces while logged in at the top of the page. I however do have to log in with two usernames on this account since the one set it up and the other authenticate it.
I however don't believe that should influence the transaction.

The first issue with your problem is that even though a previous incorrect airtime purchase hasn't been resolved, you still went ahead and bought more airtime.

Secondly, the system they build is likely automated and built by a big enough team to not warrant a single "code-genius" setting up a system where he can steal all the money people use to purchase airtime from their bank accounts. Even if he/she did do that, there would be a paper-trail and the person would eventually get caught.

The problem possibly exists between the purchase layers. You buy your airtime and then some glitch kicks in that prevents their system from buying the airtime from CellC. However, I could be wrong here and the problem could be anywhere within the purchase system.

There should also be some fine print saying that all airtime purchases are done at your own risk, so you should be weary there.

The CPA may be able to help you, but I would suggest that you just try to get a refund somehow and buy airtime the old-fashioned way.

Yes you are right in that I went ahead and bought airtime again by switching to the old interface and it works on all the occasions. However I forgot this time to switch interfaces, since the new interface is the landing page, and that is quite human.(By now the bank should at least put warning out on their new interface, that some prepaid transactions to CellC is not credited) I made them with proof aware of it, and ABSA in turn does not warn their own customers to rather switch to the old interface which works 100%

I suppose you are right that they will cover themselves, but I believe there should be enough trust between a Bank like ABSA and their customers, that they would not try to keep on robbing money from you by using the services they offer. In this case with my internet bank setup I have a 50% chance of losing my money using their internet-banking since one out of two of the interfaces are working.

ABSA'a traditional complaint route is ineffective for over 6 months now and it seems I even have to put on a fight to protect other customers been robbed as well.
What does CPA means?
Maybe that is another avenue to help ABSA's other customers
