If they have the app, that acts as the OTP rather than sms.
They'd still have needed her to grant the app permission when first installed. At least that's how mine works. She can logon and see all registered devices on the website

Ok cool I will check for her tonight. She was having issues a while ago with her banking app and she went to the bank for assistance in getting it sorted. Thank You

If the daily limits are so high. Again her fault...

Credit Cards usually don't have limits, or rather the default ones are crazy high.

Seem to remember they are R50,000 on a single transaction and then it's a case of they do verification in the store not really a limitation on the card itself.

Agreed but there would have to have been some 2 factor auth for Absa to kill it so quickly.

Yes? I have a daily and monthly limit on my FNB cc. Why would you not want that control? If I know I’m going to do a big transaction then I change it temporarily.

Cause theres no risk, it's not my money, it's the banks money, and I am careful with my CCs.

Ideally yes, but this thread is about someone who was the victim of fraud. It’s not the first time I’ve heard of the banks is refusing to cover it. If it’s their fault, okay, but with some of the scams like sim swaps etc, people really were not to blame and it’s very hard taking on a big bank when you are the little guy. My 2 cents

Then the bank would need to prove that to the ombud.
