ABSA launches new QR Payments feature on its mobile app

Absa has launched a new feature on its mobile app called QR Payments, allowing customers to scan codes from various QR code providers to make payments.

Absa managing executive for everyday banking Cowyk Fox said the free functionality is able to securely process payments with any QR code in the market, including those from Zapper, SnapScan, Pay@, and Absa.

This negates the need to download individual service provider apps, Fox said.

Yes, that would be great if the blapsa app was not the slowest most unreliable app out there. Wanted to test this now and after watching the little circle twirl for 5 minutes forced a shutdown and tried again. No surprise, the little twirling circle still works a charm but not much else.

yeah, Nedbank as well. It sucks because the majority of QR codes are Zapper and I now need their dedicated app just for that
Yep, yesterday I was at a cafe that uses Zapper and my Zapper app wanted me to confirm "missing info" before I could continue and I couldn't receive the OTP so had to make manual payment lol...annoying.
