Why is the Web Space Bar not on the list?

Biased “article” indeed.

Its not about the race to the lowest price. Its about service excellence for a few rands difference.

Frikkadel is not on the list, and is cheaper than those providers (WhoIsPrivacy included). Any domain name costing needs to specify if WhoIsPrivacy is included or excluded. My previous provider charged a substantial extra amount for it. I was surprised to experience that moving domain providers is all of about 10 mins and is fully automated - no human in sight.

Fair point, price isn't the only consideration. And Absolute Hosting gets my vote for service too, in that case.

Been with them for years and haven't had any issues ever. When you need help, you get it right away.

Whois Privacy is a product conjured up by hosting providers. It does nothing. You are paying them to do nothing.

Here is post where the CTO of domains.co.za actually admits to the fact that clients are paying for a service that is not needed.

The difference it DOES make is if you look up the domain info. Without it, you see the person's full address, phone numbers, etc. With it, you only see the domain registrar's contact details. That is enough of an important difference for me, and pretty essential today.

I am contemplating moving my domain to Absolute Hosting, but I am concerned about the potential negative impact on my Google rankings.

My DNS is with cloudflare so that will not change.

Unfortunately some hosting companies have been misleading the public about co.za Whois protection for years. They actually have no control over it. Your personal information is removed from Whois lookup by default by ZACR for free and cannot be obtained unless you approach the ZACR directly with good reason.

Several of my domains have NONE of the "extras" on them. And WHOIS returns only the registrar's info. So I am not a DSTV subscriber, I look after my shekels and not pay for extras that are of no value.
