Hey guys, I have a problem...

We (me and a flatmate) have two pc's connected to a router, but I can access the router only from his pc, I've tried *10.0.0.2 , *10.0.0.3 , switchin off my windows firewall, but nothing seems to work...
The error I get is : 10.0.0.# is taking too long to respond...?

Any suggestions?
Thanks :)

Maybe you will get a reply from someone if you provide more detail about your router; name, model, etc.

I know with the Billion modems you can set it up to only allow an admin logon from a single IP address or a range of IP addresses. Entering 0.0.0.0 will allow any PC to logon.
Check the Remote Access page or whatever it may be called on your modem/router.

Oh, sorry ,didn't know the model is important aswell :D
I've got the ??FREE?? Telkom Mega 100 WR...
Now that you mention it, I wasn't ever able to access the modem from my pc... That sucks.
Anyway, thanks for the help so far.

Make sure your computer's local IP is set to 10.0.0.something, and that your subnet mask is the same as your flatmate's PC.

Also, set the default gateway to the router's IP. The DNS server too.

Hey many ppl got this prob and I had it too.
Umm for the pc that doesnt connect....is there a proxy set in ur lan setting?
eg cache.telkomsa.net ?
Coz that was the cause for my prob. And i fixed it by either disabling the proxy or go into advanced setting and type in the address of ur router as an exclusion.

Hope that helps
Cya ;)

Hey guys, thanks for all the help...
Anyways, how do I know what my router's IP is?

Openweb specified a dns server that I should use, so it's set to that ATM, I don't have a proxy server...???

if u have a proxy setup, in the advanced setting of the proxy, enter 10.0.0.* to bypass proxy for your local lan range

OK guys, thanks for all the help so far...
I was able to somehow get my pc connected to my router, but now... :

I want to know whether or not I will be able to safely upgrade to a 4MB line,
where do I get my snr, line attenuation etc on the Telkom Mega 100WR?

Thanks again, I appreciate your help...
