VPS is down for unchained.co.za, hardware is apparently being replaced, should have been finished already.
Amongst other things looking for alternative VPS at reasonable rates and preferably with WHM/CPanel.

Slim: have sent PM with page text

I'm so fed-up, if I'm not battling with iBurst, I'm battling with the flippin VPS, it's gone down daily for at least 2 weeks now.

Been with JVDS, then I was moved to VAServ (still on shared hosting), billing got messed up between the two, changed to VPS with Rus Foster (VAServ / a2b2), then probs started. Seems like Rus is still involved with JVDS & VPSColo too.
Don't really have a prob with Rus, but the problems started a couple of days after I moved the domains and changed the registrations, then upgraded RAM, then increased file handles and now he's apparently replacing the hardware. In the meantime I've been offline quite a bit (and dependent on WBS mail account when my server can't be verified by WBS, have own SMTP with WBS smtp as smart relay)

As in aligned errors or simply the other towers available to you ?

If you're getting uplink errors you may not be so lucky ;-)

The latter.

I haven't seen any uplink errors yet. (I don't expect to either as I'm about 150m away from the tower!) :D

Seems like my VPS is up again and http://www.unchained.co.za/iBurst/ available, just hope its fixed now.
Yep, well explained.

2 BobSmith ... click the link above.

EDIT: Oops ... missed the 'C' part. Havent seen UTC, but I can confirm telnet works over USB to UTD. I assume the UTC drivers also create a 'virtual ethernet' adpater to be used by PPPoE. Just set IP addr on virtual adapter as per real ether instructions & telnet.

bscc 2 -87
bscc 13 -101
bscc 2 -87

bscc 2 -90
bscc 9 -101

This would mean at home I connect to northclif with a cost of approx 89db

Type in rfScan alignedBscc to see which one is actually being used by UTD.

You probably need to setup your telnet client to change LF to CRLF.
In putty its under terminal settings

Can somebody "decode" this for me please... I can see the popular one (unfortunatly!!! ) is Northcliff! But where are the others and how can I set it so that it doesn't use Northcliff anymore? (If possible!)

With the signal strength (cost) thing, is a higher (-112) or lower (-66) number better?

Signal values measured in dB. Each 20 db is 10 times. 40dB = 100times. All readings is in - (minus)db's as signals are extremely small. It's mean -64dB is 10 times stronger then -84db.
What is the reason of your signal changes from -64 to -84dB?

To change the tower you connect to, grab an antennae from Gres, connect it to you UTD and point it at the tower you want. :)
