I don't know, I find staring at my head kind of distracting with glossy monitors

beanie have u actually used a glossy monitor or the samsung one?

you dont notice your head unless its off

when it on there is nothing reflecting back

do you seriously think samsung would make a product if this was the case?

im looking into my screen and cannot see my reflection at all

so im not sure where you getting this from

I have used glossy monitors before, mate ;) I guess you have a bright background, therefore you cannot see a reflection? I use a black background ;)

Did you buy yours secondhand, or how did you manage to get it at that price?

I could have had two Dell 30 inch monitors for R14K. They made a mistake and delivered two parts to my address, we thought the first box was the stand and the second the monitor, as it was there were 2. At the end it was Dell's fault since they delivered the part to me - they only work on prepaid terms, ie you deposit the money first, which I did, is it my fault they screwed up? At the end I had to contact them to tell them they delivered two. At least I had the option of checking out the second one if the first had any dead pixels - not a single dead pixel though - the Dell3007WFPHC is a beautiful monitor :).

I didn't want the clerk who messed up to loose his job though or have to pay from his own pocket.

I covet your 30" monitor :p

Don't covet it too much, I only play Quake 3 and Sauerbraten on it occasionally, run a few HD trailers or occasinally watch some 720p anime
on it. It's mostly used for the screen real estate, ie you can really run Final Cut Pro comfortably or use Apple Colour. :)

Prices are coming down, I bet in 2 years 30inch will be where 22 is now (maybe even less).

And instead of being a total Mac-head I went for a superior part, a Dell, the Dell beats the Apple Cinema Display :).

Oh yeah the Dell is assembled in the Czech Republic which sends a nice message to China from me :).

I never said my games are black, killa, stop assuming ;)

And I have used the Samsung before, the fact remains that I find glossy screens distracting ;) It does help that I have a window behind my head doesn't it? :p

Exactly, so please don't tell me that I'm speaking rubbish again :p

I wonder whether any suppliers will stock the 30" Dell  I guess it's better to buy it from Dell directly.
