Acer unveiled its Acer Iconia A1 tablet in South Africa – the company’s first 7.9’’ device

Only buy Acer if you want to be sorely disappointed by after-sales support. Good thing it comes out with Jelly Bean 4.2.2, because it's unlikely to ever officially see any higher version of Android.

Pity about the screen res I am keen on a well specked, affordable 8" tab.

Price is decent for what it is....

But yeah, wouldn't buy one myself, don't trust Acer's after sales support.
