Acer why do you hate me? - 4 month old Laptop won't boot.

I am screwed aren't I? My Acer laptop does not start up the first time I hit the power switch. The power light comes on and the screen lights up but no text is shown. Not even the BIOS messages. It just sits there. If I hold down the power button to turn it off and then turn it on immediately again it boots.

I am guessing that I should take all my data off the laptop and then take it in to Acer? Gees I hate this laptop so much...

Always backup If the BIOS resets to default settings every unsuccessful POST (and then allows you to boot) then the culprit might be somewhere in the BIOS...

The problem is that I know the BIOS isn't resetting. It keeps my settings. Could I be a thermal thing? I swear I have had so many issues with this thing. Been searching online forums and it seems that many people have the same issues with Acer. Next time I am definately getting a Dell or something. At least they will come out to your place to fix the problem. Not looking forward to having to send it in and wait 2 months to get it back.

I have tried updating the BIOS to the latest version and that doesn't work...

Power issue, saving last saved state. It's going back to suspend mode I think

sahara laptops do this and taking out the battery works for sahara

Weird - took the battery out. The true test will be tomorrow morning. The problem only happens after the laptop has been off (choosing shutdown instead of the default sleep mode in Vista) for the night. One a side note after booting up after removing the laptop it is much faster?? Copying stuff over onto my external USB drive is 5 mb/s faster. ??
