Hi,

I recently upgraded a 4Mbps line to a 10Mbps line. I am with Telkom.

When I performed a speed test using speedtest.net I get the following result.

This seems normal for a 10Mbps line.

But when I downloaded something like open office just as a test it looked like this:

What I find strange is that the speed test indicated that my speed is much faster that 472 KB/s.

How can it be possible that I'm not getting the download speed as indicated by the speed test?

I think that it must be my international speed that's the problem.

The speed test above confirms that my local speed is fine but I just did a speed test to London and got 4.25 Mbps.

I used a download manager and got around the same speeds.

I also noticed that if do a speed test to any of the servers in Pretoria I get 4.25 Mbps and to the one in Centurion I get 8.6 Mbps.
