I have a microcom adsl modem up and running perfectly and am now wanting to add wireless capability with the linksys wrt54g router, by adding router between modem and pc.

Has anyone else out there accomplished this or know what steps to take and what settings are needed for router and/or modem?

PPPoE support

I use the WRT54G (running OpenWRT) with a D-Link (DSL-300T) with great success.

Does your microcom modem support PPPoE?

Connect modem to WAN port of router. Configure the username/password of your ADSL connection on the routers config, and off you go. If you connect it straight to the normal LAN ports on the router, you can use PPPoE from your PC as normal, and so can any other PC connected to the router.

Thanks Nod. Have been a bit hesitant to try anything - don't want to mess up what is working - but need to get my network up and running!

Will try this when I get home.
