I have noticed that no restaurants impost the 50 customer limit. Is it not policed? I'm glad it isn't, just thought it was strange.

The issue I have with this is that it seems like the testing rate has more to do with the numbers going down that it's probably gone down.

Western Cape stats are still going up, and I trust the testing a bit more there:

That said, lock down in South Africa doesn't mean much besides lots of businesses not being allowed to operate, gathering limits, public masks etc. isn't really enforced in a lot of SA.

Restaurants, taverns, and shebeens are allowed to sell alcohol for on-site consumption within their licence conditions until 20:00 every evening.
As in 7 days a week?

I still don't get the curfew, it's been two whole dreary years. Come on, people are over it.

First.

I am getting annoyed by this "no alcohol in public places". This was actually already a law before covid hit us. I wish they would stop mentioning it as if it is different now.
These are the same muppets who said you cannot fill containers with fuel, then came back and said we meant none SABS containers, which also technically has been the law. But what would they know about the law.

But the resturant industry conforms and self regulates... well thats what Wendy preaches every time she comes on tv and says gov needs to trust them despite video footage keep coming out of customers and establishments flouting regulations.

Still not 100% clear if on-site consumption applies to the weekends

One wine farm just posted:
We are open for breakfast, lunch and wine tastings from Tuesday to Sunday.

So seems to apply to weekends.

Judging by the general road traffic 22h00-04h00, many don't. :D
Well exactly, hearing some guy speeding around the place in a Subaru with prasstatata pops at 2am every day now. Bunch of other traffic in and out of Durban CBD.
