Hi there chaps
I'm looking to possibly upgrade from 384 to 512 and I want to hear your opinions on whether it is a value for money move.
My reasoning:
1. A mate and I do a bit of ftp stuff, (average files sizes +-500mb) will it make the file transfer a bit faster? (he’s also on 384 so both our upload speeds will have to increase to make it worth while won’t it?)
2. We also do a little online gaming via Hamachi (4 of us) so it might enable me to be a server there if I wish? Or was 384 good enough (to let you know we jol BF2, FEAR, Ghost recon, etc. fps type games)
3. Will it make my online gaming any faster (obviously it should but I mean worth the extra R120/m) and how about international gaming servers?
4. I guess 384 is fast enough for web browsing, a split second faster page load isn’t gonna make my life any fuller! wrong or right?
I realise it can do more damage to the 3gig cap but hey, a 192 connection damaged my cap in any case! (those Telkom bastards!)
Opinions appreciated!
