Hi All

I'm lookking for an ADSL ISP that wil allow me to use my ADSL username and password for dial-up as well. I remember seeing this a while back but cant recall who was offering this. I currently use Openweb, and dont want to change ISP's. The other alternative is find a cheap dial-up only account. I mean I only need to make one 10 min call once a week for an update. Any suggestions??

Well if you currently use openweb and dont want to change have you asked them?

Have you considered gprs? Virgin only charges r0.50 per mb.

I had heard telkom ISP ADSL accounts allowed for dialup access as well, but when I phoned their helpdesk, I was told this wasnt the case.

If any body has info to the contrary, please let us know :)

Cheers

I am using webafrica ... I don't often have to use the dialup account but I was wondering, anyone know if the dialup account is effected by / contrabutes to the cap?

I have used my wa & telkominternet accounts to connect using isdn dialup at 64kbs when I have had problems on my adsl line.

Usage on dialup seems to form part of usage recorded by the saix userstats - AFAIK once you are capped you can no longer use your adsl account for dialup so I guess it is taken into account for capping

Here's what was attached to the welcome letter -
By dialling our unique PoP access number, (086 000 7249), you will be able to connect to TelkomInternet at local telephone call rates, regardless of where in South Africa you are calling from.
Just created a connection and it worked.
