Hi All,

I took a quick look around and didn't really see any posts that were relavent or from the last few seconds so I thought I'd ask.

At the moment I have a 4mb uncapped account with one of the various ISPs, when I play online games on my Xbox the latency seems to be averagely high say (above like 150ms). Now I'm not blaming the lag for my poor performance but it definitely plays a factor. Now that my life story is over; to the questions!

Which ISP has the lowest latency for Xbox live gaming?
How can I improve my online latency during gameplay?
And any other information would be useful!

Regards,

Mythdragon

Get test accounts from different service providers. They differ around the country so everyone is going to give you a different answer. I have found Openweb to be good - Durban. MWEB I found decent (had a test account.) Telkom I've had good experience with, although they have a new network (as of 1 Feb) and it's still settling down, so wouldn't go there for a little while.

It shouldn't make a difference unless there is a lot of downloading/uploading going on at the same time as playing online. The reason being that online gaming uses very little bandwidth and therefore speed doesn't have a bit impact. It is more to do with the quality of account you get.

Trials to try:
- http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl-trial/ (It's capped, but hey say it's now prioritised the same way as their new uncapped but of course it's not limited by speed, so you will get your line speed.
- https://www.axxess.co.za/testdrive.php (Not same as t uncapped)
- Email mrbeep@openweb.co.za for a trial account with speed and account type you want to test
I don't see MWEB uncapped trials any more on their website, you could request one I suppose.
