Adsl at about 50% uptime

Hi All,

I know this won't do any good 'cos unfortunately I am reliant on Telscum, but thought it might feel better to rant a bit.

I waited about 5 months for ADSL, got it last week. It was up for 3 days. Now it's been down for 2 1/2 days (and counting). All Telkom can tell me is "it is a network problem and our technicians are working on it" - would love to know what kind of network problem takes them days to fix - if the router is broken - replace it !!!!!

OK, time for another 20mins on hold to find someone to cr@p on again.

Slightly the same thing happened to me.
Waited over 4 months. I got it Thursday night. (Can you believe it, they finished my DSL install at 7pm)

Friday it worked great, Saturday it worked great, Sunday I kept losing sync. Somewhere between 20 and 30 times that day. Eventually it stopped doing that. Yesterday it worked fine and now today. It's very slow, can't even manage 20KBps. :(

Nips --> If you're in JHB, we did experience (terrible) ADSL issues since Saturday night. Some guys got their services restored on Sat night, some on Sunday and some yesterday. Some unfortunate souls are still battling to get their problems resolved.

the installation is going to be least of your problems, monthly you will have to spend between 5 and 10 hours on the phone with them trying to sort out the billing problems (they don't understand that if you have only one adsl line and they charge you for 2 there is something wrong?) AND AND AND....:mad:
