So I am planning you getting ADSL hooked up.

Here is my plan,
Get a line line rental from Telkom @ R187.00
Get and DSL 4-10mb Line Afrihost @ R399.00
Get data from @Lantic 5GB @ R99.00
Get bolt on data uncapped unshapped 6mp to 6am weekdays and all day all weekend from @Lanitc @ R59.00

TOTAL
-------------
R744.00 p/m
-------------

Anyone with a better suggestion please shoot. I am trying to get the best for under 700p/m. This has been the closest setup.

Telkom do Uncapped bundle which you get a dicount on and then you can apply for a further 25% discount on the adsl portion might work out cheaper, someone here should know what the total cost is.

Should be some values in here if you look http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/553335-25-discount-on-Telkom-ADSL

Edit: Looks like about R700 for 4Mb/s uncapped all inclusive. See posts #95-98 in the above link.

The Afrihost 4/10Mbps with 50GB data bundle combo would set you back only R450pm, which is R49 less and 45GB more than that combination that you posted...

With your mission I'd rather get Telkom's 4Mb uncapped or the Afrihost 4Mb/50GB bundle, which is R450pm now but should be something in the region of R350-R375 after the new prices come out.

@Labratza

I plan on streaming media from my Smart TV.... Youtube Videos,
Learning online https://www.edx.org/, https://www.udacity.com/
Alway connected internet...So I will access my PC from anywhere 24/7/365
Gaming, Most of the games I buy now, I have to download like a 15GB worth of data.... not to mention Battlepatch I mean battlefield lol. So I need all the internet I can get.

I will lots do lots of video Editing & picture editing then upload....

During they day, I don't play much, I work.

@Ponder I will check out your post.

@Pada, yes but it's NOT uncapped after hours. With @Lantic I get a bolt-on after hours(6pm -6am) weekdays and uncapped all weekend surfing at 4-10Mbs . The Afrihost 50GB solution won't work. I will finish that In two nights, maybe three. depending on speed of cause.

@Froot, I really don't want a capped option, specially after hours. My little brother does a lot of on-line tutorials and he hammers the bandwidth after hours. I am already using more than 50GB on mobile data which is VERY unsteady BTW.

Well with Telkom 4 meg uncapped Do package inclusive is R548 - 25% discount equals R411 + R187 equals R598 which is R102 under your R700 budget.

Sounds good, I will look into that. Those will be my two options.
I will debate client service, because telkom tents to have bad reviews. I've ordered my Telkom line installation, waiting for that phone call.

Thanks you all.

Telkom seems to be way better than they use to be a while back with servicing their current clients.

I'm also curious about the download speed that you can get with that uncapped bolt-on, because typically uncapped accounts have a bandwidth limit, such as 1Mbps.

They don't mention any bandwidth limits, but I would guess that they would have one, because that is incredibly cheap for an uncapped + unshaped account!

TI's Nightsurfer can definitely download at line speed. Needless to say it depends on what you're downloading, torrents are bit "iffy" ATM.

I have a friend whose on the Bold-On. He gets about 300-500GB worth of data ....Its pretty decent and he hasn't complained about speed

Rather bundle the line and data with Afrihost. 10 meg line + 50 gigs is only R450.

The Bolt on is from 6pm to 6am and open all weekend. Thats a giveaway...at that price R59.00

but it looks like you have to have one of their capped accounts:

Access International/Local/Unshaped dependent on your Capped Access Bundle

or am i interpreting it wrong

edit: also on page - “Add-On” Uncapped ADSL service to any existing @lantic Capped ADSL service which offers customers Uncapped access

pity that. any got experience of their capped accounts?
