Anybody else experiencing the same problem?
I'm in Goodwood (Cape Town). Netgear router shows line sync, but can't connect. I have an IS 1024 account.

Thank goodness for 3G......

If your getting an LCP failure or an Authentication failure and uve checked on ur IS account, the problem is with the ESR at the exchange. Ur going to need to log a fault, chances are some1 has already because that effects everyone connected to that DSLAM.

DSLHome384 in PE

I was upgraded to 384 from 192 at the beginning of Aug.
Typical speed using telkon HTTP test has been UP = 350, DOWN 43.0.
I have experienced total denial of service for about 12 hours or more during week 14 Aug, 21 & 28. These have been attributed to Network problems and Authentication problems with email.
God help us in 2010.

Seems to be quite widespread as lines are down in Kenilworth and Newlands/Rondebosch as well. Does not even sync...

Well, this is not a joke. Our company mail server is on an ADSL line. I'm using my 3G card on the server to send mail, but we can't receive because the ip on the 3G card is not routable from outside vodacom's network.

Had the same thing on our new 1024kbps uncapped IS line - called Telkom on number above, waited on the line for about 30 minutes, logged a fault and the line came back within 5 minutes. Not sure if it's just a coincidence, though.
