adsl + fax machine help needed please

Hey

We recently moved 2 JHB and my moms working from home now so she using the fax machine and so we got isdn so the internet the phne and the fax could all be connected but as we did have dsl before its kinda hard getting used 2 isdn again no 24/7 connection so we phoned telkom and wanted 2 apply for adsl but the female from telkom said that we cant get our adsl modem connected with a fax and phone line all working because the adsl ethernet modem simply just does not consist of enough phone jacks.

now my question is it possible 2 get the faxmachine, phone line and dsl working all together ?

Over-simplifying a bit - but basically once the ADSL is installed you'll get two outputs from your old phone jack. The one goes to the ADSL modem. The other is for the POTS (Plain old telephone system). Simply hook your phone and fax into the second output like you would if had a normal telephone line.. and wa-la - bobs your uncle . And yes, you can operate them all simultaneously.

You would also require a ADSL Pots filter cut in on the phone side. Telkom sell them for about R50.

Err, no you cant. Assuming you mean use the phone and the fax similtaneously

You can surf the internet and use the phone line. But you can only use the phone line for fax or phone, not both at the same time...

Thus, you can have a smiley face [] with a [:I] blushing face or a [8D] cool face, but not a [] face with both [:I] and [8D] at the same time...
