ADSL Installed today????

Last Friday i got a phone call from telkom saying my install date is today.

So, this morning the techie phones me to confirm my details, he has my address wrong, i did not recognise the address at all. I gave him the correct address but now i am worried - the last thing i want is to have to start back at square 1 again because they had the wrong address.

Did the tech confirm he is going to install an ADSL line... I bet they are coming to install a diginet line.....

Bastard ... I want my ADSL too ...

My install date is today as well (23 October) and the technition phoned to confirm as well. They STILL have not come (16:15) and I've called Telkom. They tell me they WILL come.

How often do the techies not come when booked ? How long does it take ? You think it's still possible for them to come ?

The Techie called me at about 8:00 to confirm that he can install. He confirmed my address and details.

At 12:00 he said he was at my place. Rushed home, let him in, 30 min later everything was done.

I am now broadcasting from my new 384K Web Africa Account

Oh little update here - he phoned me at 17:10 to tell me he was at the house and ready to install ! I thought they only worked until 17:00, so that was really amazing. This hasn't been said much, but well done Telkom *looks around*

Anyway, he didn't install my own Linksys router - said he only does the Telkom ones. Is that right ?

And lastly I HATE Mweb. I was all excited etc last night to get home with my ADSL and phoned Mweb at 18:15 to upgrade my account from dial up > ADSL. These idiots KEPT cutting me off and rerouting me to various departments. Keep in mind they close at 19:00 so I was pushing for time so I could play last night. I tried again and again and again - but kept getting cut off. Eventually at 18:35 I'm told everyone has gone home and they are not sure why. I ask for a supervisor and told they're all in a meeting. It wasn't even 19:00 ! ARGH.

I went Web Africa. It took 20 minutes for my new account to be in my inbox.
