ADSL Line Rental and Data - how much do you guys pay ?

Hi,

I just wanted to check in with real actual values.
For ADSL line rental and internet data what is your total cost per month ?

I have capped 300 gig per month and 10 meg adsl with telkom.
I pay about R1050.00

I pay just below R500 for a 2meg and 20 gig soft cap with free night surfer.

I have fibre now:D.
I used to pay R599 with 200GB data, 4mbps and weekend caller plan.
At my parents place we paying R620 for 100GB, 4mbps and anytime caller plan.

i dont get it
I pay 750 for my telkom alone rental for phone and the adsl line and then i pay 299 for 300 gigs from web africa,
how the hell what do i do here?

Remember your ADSL service consists of 3 components:

1. POTS line rental (fixed monopoly rate)
2. ADSL line rental (dependent on line speed you chose)
3. Data (dependent of the package and ISP you chose)

Have a look at your Telkom account and fill in the above.

Im worried i get throttled and all non sense

i have 10 megs currently and i know between 8 meg and 10 meg its 50 rand difference
i hardly use the telephone....so like a few/several land line calls in a month

and yah i just found web africa to be well priced like axxess
i used to be with cybersmart and afrihost

300GB data usage on a 10Mbps uncapped account won't get throttled.

u sure with telkom ?
i am mean i am not a heavy downloader, but if i want somethinig its good to get the speed , like a movie or whatever
streaming is more of my usage and most likely my daughter on youtube and stuff like peppapig and what not. at about 480 sometimes 720 if i watch some odd documentary

i used to pay 199 for 200 gigs but for some reason on 2 months i had been capped.

i just found for uncapped which is what i first used to have, it was always throttled
some how we used to use about 5 to 8 gigs a day but not every day.... like on off but we were being throttled and its not cool waiting for ever to download a 200 or 400 meg file

R559 for 4meg line all inclusive (40gig + 1 gig mobile)
R159 for 300 gigs per month from VOX (6 month roll over)

It was a special some time ago ... started with 75 gig, then 150 gig , then 300 gig same price :whistling:

Yikes, I need to download more Linux distros :erm:

Telkom is R699 for
Up to 10Mbps ADSL
100GB SoftCap Data
Free Night Surfer data (12am - 7am)
Line rental included(closer plan 2)
WiFi Enabled modem included(excludes month to month)

R199 you get 200GB(vox with 6 month rollover).
So total = R898 with 2 accounts( if one fails over).

Its R600pm with out the 100GB data Telkom data.
R299 for 300GB(vox with 6 month rollover).
R899 max!
