I noticed my Telkom ADSL 5102G modem does not show the current Date/Time at the maintenace screen. I tried PC time, no diff, therefore the log time is also correct...The date shows 2000 ??

Any selution for this ?
Thanks

Mine also shows 2000 after a reset and then as soon as there is something new for the log it shows the new date

Example:

1/1/2000 0:0:49> ppp_ready: ch:804a50e0, iface:803ebf68
1/1/2000 0:0:49> SNMP TRAP 3: link up
1/1/2000 0:0:49> Accept() fail
1/1/2000 0:0:49> Accept() fail
1/1/2000 0:0:51> received from NTP server(36)
9/27/2006 18:53:42> Adjust time to 451ac8b6
9/27/2006 18:53:42> adjtime task pause 1 day
9/27/2006 19:7:14> SNMP TRAP 2: link down

Manually assign a DNS address. 196.25.1.1 and secondary 196.25.1.9. This should do the trick.;)

most routers will connect to an NTP server to sync their time. This can only happen once an internet connection has been established by the router (duh!)

If your router is showing an incorrect time then it either cannot connect to the NTP server(s) it has been configured to connect to, or the time on the NTP server is wrong (highly unlikely). IME, most NTP servers are configured by IP, so having a working DNS server isn't a requirement (at least as far as setting the time goes.)

well if you have your router in bridge mode its unlikely that it will ever update the time since your pc dials out and not the router
