ADSL problems in JHB??

I just got off the phone with Nomondo an ADSL "Technician". My downstream and upstream speeds on my modem verifies that I am upgraded to the 384 service, however, since the 6th (when it was done apparently) I haven't had speeds more than 184kbps.

She told me that there is a problem in JHB re: ADSL and that the technicians are working on it. Could anyone verify her story?
 
I've been experiencing intermittent connectivity throughout the day.
 
I applied to be upgraded on the 15th June, it "took" 48 hours, i was upgrded on the 3rd July and then again on the 6th July, according to Telkom i am upgraded on there system but not according to my line tests.
 
There was a router failure at Doornefontien at just before 4:00pm. They sorted it out in about 30 mins. But ADSL didn't come back up for a while after that.
 
Just did a few speed tests and I can say that I am now officially upgraded. Will do a few tests during the day to see what speeds I get.
 
I can confirm ADSL has been wobbly. The past day and a bit the connection seems to just die at random. Often the PPPOE connection does not even register the connection is dead and needs to be restarted manually. It's done it about 5 times today, and twice yesterday. Last time it happened was about 30 minutes ago.

A few times restarting did not fix it as the other side was unreachable. Longest it's been unavailable was about 20 minutes.

I doubt it is due to a router failure as it started way before 4pm and still seems to be happening.
 
I just called now, they reckon it's Happiness the cleaning lady - she decided to clean the NOC late thursday evening with Jic and Handy Andy. Got those servers nice 'n clean, inside as well ! - she was hoping to get overtime to go with the recent shares she got in the company.
 
lol, yea well, did a few tests and I can say I'm happy now. My house got sold and the final paperwork eventually went through, and I'm on the last stretch of a very long and complicated project. Chicks are calling me (strange, my phone number probably got circulated by my friends again) so yea...

Things are just coming together now. Telkom just made my day :D

well, they dont ask me for sex unless we've done it already, and it was geniunely a call from a girl a friend of mine knows that wanted to meet up for some drinks.

Total opposite happened to me on Friday night.
I've got a 192kb line and all of a sudden I was pulling down data at 30KB/s. I thought at first it must have been due to the suddenly clean line I had because I'd just plugged in my line filter.

On Saturday however I was back at my usual 20KB/s speeds, with a frown on my face I thought I might have just had a lucky friday night where EVERYONE went out and disconnected their ADSL...

Maybe I was upgraded by accident and downgraded again after
