Good evening

I am having a big problem with my ADSL it keeps on resynchronizing and even fail to connect to the DSLAM. My telephone has to be picked up for it to stay connected. What can cause this issue?

Have you asked Telkom to recreate your port on the exchange/dslam?

Try connecting your router directly to the Telkom wall jack without your phone or any splitter/filters connected and see if your line stays synced.

I've done the port reset and the router is already connected to the wall jack.

Normaly when you pick up the phone it raises the voltage on the line seems like you may have some bad connections on the line between you and the exchange that is causing low voltage on the line is the line noisy if so get telkom to check the noisy line may fix your adsl problem as well.

The fault was closed without resolution.
Had the same problem with Telkom last year. Received a message and a note in the mail box saying Telkom tech was at our house twice, but no one was home so the ticket will be closed. After a huge fight with Telkom the tech came out for the first time (3rd time in his mind) to resolve the problem.

Do you have a POTS filter on your line?

That seems to be the problem.
