hey!!! don't be putting "Slow" in there...you're giving me a bad name :D

My apologies! I hate Telscum.
I can't wait when Bitco arrives in Brakkies. They are busy getting a license to do wireless in Cape Town.

So for someone who isn't very au fait with the happenings in the wireless space, what makes Bitco worth looking forward to vs the existing WISPs?

Have a look bitco.co.za. Excellent feedback from my broadband users. The ceo want a better alternative to Telkom adsl. Our local wireless isp's is a joke! Only sprint looks like an option, but Keep your eyes on Bitco.

So, 2 days into the week and no work has been done that I know of.
Wonder whether we should give the guy a call tomorrow just to make sure that the cable replacement is still on track?

Some idiot from Telkom called me today regarding a wireless line with NO internet! I was so upset so I told him that he can go to hell and never come back.

I'm as annoyed by the whole situation as anyone, but please understand that the person who called you is certainly not a decisionmaker & yelling insults at them is hardly productive.

I spoke to my neighbour who were present when Telkom came out for the site survey/audit on the 13th.
He mentioned the one Telkom official said there's no way that they're going to pull cable again if it's unsecured (current situation with manhole covers). He took out a number 13 socket spanner and opened the newly installed (2 weeks old) manhole cover. The "lock" isn't even a socket shape.. It's a triangle that catches on the socket's sides.

One of the other Telkom officials said they will have to replace the newly installed covers (from their sub contractor) with another new type that has a "Magnetic lock" that only Telkom guys have tools to open..

So far in Burgundy street, I've only seen two manhole covers out of the +-15 replaced! (Not the new magnetic lock type yet.)

So then, It will not be sorted by Friday...... I think I must just let Amobia do their thing and put all of this ***t behind me....

And that's only Burgundy street. What about all the other streets affected by this?

Yeah I'm going to do the Amobia thing. Waited too long now and I don't feel like giving my money to a company that treats its customers like this any longer.

Update:

just got a callback from my guy...he spoke to the guy who will be doing the job/getting the contractors...they are currently still waiting for the new manhole covers to arrive, and the current estimate for the job to begin is this Friday/next Monday.

It makes sense to wait for the new manhole covers to get here before laying the new cables...otherwise it will just get stolen again.

guess we have to wait just a little bit longer
