.. Guess its not happening todayYup - they were at my house now. They are Patching in all the sub streets today. The main Cable is apparently in Witteboom street and they are working from that cable. You should be sorted today

I hadn't actually scheduled installation yet. I was going to regardless, but then I figured that the (much higher than advertised, grrr!) installation fee could be spent in a better way around this time of year. Going to put away a few hundred every month in case the copper guys make another turn by us.

Lol, Dont Jinx it..... Looks like they are sealing the manhole covers pretty good - Each on in my street has like a silver pole planted next to the Manhole Cover - not sure what that's for.....

CTWUG = Cape Town Wireless User Group
Basically a big LAN/WAN between 100s of guys in Cape Town area. Other areas in SA also has it...JAWUG, PTAWUG etc etc.
Have you noticed some houses has some wireless antennas on the roof? k that doesn't mean that all of them are on this 1 network, but we use kinda the same equipment.

Protea Village is just around the corner from me I noticed Telkom put down a moerse box opposite my house. I'm so hoping it will be good news for me soon. Also, my line didn't support more than 4mbps a while ago and now apparently I can do 10mbps so I am hopeful.
