Yup - Lines was stolen on Saterday the 11th of October again, and I Called him the following Monday morning, and ever since that i got regular updates and confirmation that the service will be restored on the 24/10/2014 - - Here's holding THUMBS :eek
You live on the better side of the hill then. On the south side the MTN signal is so bad I can barely complete DNS lookups, let alone try a speedtest. At least with Cell C I get about 2-3Mbps. Holding thumbs Telkom pull through, today is supposed to be the day it gets fixed.
Mmmmm... source? I've got 2 messages already stating that the investigation is complete, the line will be replaced today.
I got the same Messages.... but seeing that the day is basically done and my line is still dead, i decided to call Afrihost and Telkom, and I got the same reply from both... The agent at Telkom was just as surprised when I told him that I received a Restore confirmation for today...
Yeah, not sure how it works, I'm on the even-numbered side of Shiraz, my neighbour opposite is still online.
I am also in Cabernet St, no issues. Just wish they will upgrade to 10meg line.
hoping for an upgrade too...my router's max attainable sync speed is 12mbps...according to some stats show in the settings...wouldn't mind 10mbps

Are you guys still having problems, my line was dead after the new exchange, and now im getting a lot of noise and a terrible "Attenuation (dB): 225 25 " reading...
Now to phone Telkom again...
They just don't care.... That's what happens when they have the Monopoly!!!... You can do whatever it takes, put them on HelloPeter, threaten them, but you are Peeing into the wind. I Cancelled my account Yesterday... Will have to take Afrihost Mobile data, and find a spot in my house where I actually get H or anything better than E.
Ohy Vey...... Hopefully they are busy joining the damage cables to get the area up and running again. I got the Afirhost Mobile data and found a spot in my house that gets H.....Will have to do for now!
My data usage won't fit in any mobile data package...way too much so cost wise won't make sense.
What I don't understand...I've heard that they put (or at least are supposed to...) some sort of alarm on the cable which alerts "someone" when there are theft taking place...I'm REALLY hoping today's issue is just maintenance...holding thumbs...
why don't they protect their infrastructure? Everyday you hear of areas (close to ours by the way) thats getting fibre soon...and yet we struggle with our copper still...so...come install fibre in Protea Village pretty please!!!
