Hey guys,

I live in the Sandton/Rosebank area. I've going 512k adsl, got 2 accounts.
1. 3gb unshaped telkom
2. 1gb int/10 gb local openweb

It seems to be the line, cause occasionally the line drops and can take minutes to hours to correct itself. Reseting the router doesn't seem to help either.

Is anyone else in the area experiencing the same problem?
Does anyone know what i can do to fix it? (using dial up/etc is not an answer)

I am sure I heard of someone else having this problem before. Do a search on the forum....

Otherwise can't help :)

The one that I saw had to do something about the account and DNS servers :/ It started happening before I got the OpenWeb account as well. So i'm just wondering if the lines are just extremely unreliable of late or if Telkom is picking on me :/

I have a problem too. My router keeps losing sync and doesn't reconnect at all until I unplug the telephone cable, reset the router and then plug the telephone cable back in. It might have something to do with my connection, because I use one of those dodgy line splitters that you plug into the socket on the wall.

Since I flashed my router to newer firmware it seems to be happening less frequently. Which really confuses me, is it the line, some dodgy connection or my router.

So try do what I do and see if the router can sync faster.
