ADSL speeds in Plumstead, Cape Town

Did a check on www.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/ last night and noticed in my area (Plumstead, Cape Town) the maximum speed available in your area is 40MB (copper)

I am currently on a 4MB and was wondering if anyone else in Plumstead has upgraded to this? or has got a line faster than 4MB in Plumstead?

I never know whether the site is accurate or not because mine also says 10Mb but looking at my router stats, I should be fine for 20Mb.

Frogfoot need something like 60% signup before they'd consider it - does Plumstead have a Facebook community page for mailing list? First see how many people are interested before approaching them..

Yeah, but don't think the only people that want fibre would be gamers. Lots of people download, watch movies, stream content, need fibre for business etc.

I'm in Southfield and it used to say max 10MB copper... now the website says unavailable. The weirdest thing is... just across the road from me they installed those white boxes (I forget what you all them ... something with a M)... anyhow... I don't fall into that part of the map to get 40MB.

Its an MSAN, and its likely because you haven't been switched over to the MSAN yet
