For the last three days, my local download speeds on 4mb have halved (400KB/s - 200KB/s) and my international speeds are atrocious. A international speed test report from dslreports.com

Download speed: 217kb/s and upload: 214kb/s. The peak upload was much higher than the peak download.

I know the rain has caused some problems, but the report I saw said they had been resolved?

Is everyone's ADSL slower or just certain regions?

I also heard that one of the reasons for the ADSL problems is because Telkom tried to remove the 24hr resets which didn't go so well.

phone telkom..

most likely they downgrading ur line to 2mbit for some or other reason..

just check cos thats what happened to me..

oh ya an check wat speed ur router is syncing on..should be 4096

Is your router still syncing at full speed?

It was still syncing at 4096. I managed to fix the problem or it fixed itself by co-incidence (the local speed problem). I disconnected the router for 10 minutes and reconnected it. Apparently this totally "desyncs" it. I'm not too sure how true that is, sounds suspect. But after I reconnected it, local speeds were back up to 400KB/s

International is still slow though.

If you're in Cape Town, I heard today that the Barrack street link was 'broken' so everything had to route through Bellville - including the rest of the country.
